Salmon Fishing

Salmon Fishing was great today under sunny skies and a calm lake in Michipicoten Harbour.
There were also lots of Lake Trout biting the end of the line also.

Flowers of Summer

With frost warnings only a couple weeks ago the summer solstice brings the flowers of the Blueberry, Bunchberry, Labrador tea, Wild Stawberry, Bearberry, Pink LadySlipper, Bluebead Lily, Marsh Marigold and many others I haven't discovered yet.

Michipicoten River

I paddled down the Michipicoten River a few days ago looking for elusive fish but to no avail but plenty of garbage and broken dam barrier float pieces from the spring flooding which also ripped out the mouth of the river to the treeline.

Fishing on the Sand River

The Sand River was at a great level for getting down without hitting too many rocks but getting lots of strikes from beautiful speckled trout.

Whitewater on the Agawa

The water was at a great level for paddling the Agawa River for some exciting whitewater paddling.

Spring on the Agawa River

A week ago there was still ice in the bush and the rivers were flowing strong from the rain and winter melt.
