An exceptional sunrise over the Michpicoten River this morning.

The weather patterns have been giving out plenty of clouds for spectacular sunsets these days.

The Salmon were biting under a canopy of morning clouds over Michipicoten Bay.

A Comorant was trying to dry it's wings in the misty air at Old Woman Bay and I managed to catch a Rainbow Trout in the river.

The clouds were building all last week with lots of rain accompanying them across the sky.

Joe Pye weed is flowering and the excessive rain brought out a lot of mushrooms including the Birch Boletes ready for eating.

The bumblebees were buried into the bottom of the Thistle Flowers.

A canoe was out in the receding swells bobbing in the sunset glow.

Michipicoten is one of the oldest place names on one of the oldest map of Canada loosely meaning, "those big cliffs over there".

The wind picked up from the west building to 20 knots and I took refuge at Smokey Point just south of Michipicoten Bay.

Blowing 20 knots with 6 ft swells so it was time to find a beach to rest on.

The Boreal Forest was catching rain clouds as they were drifting across the Lake today.

Lake Superior was dead calm all day and very hot weather is heating the lake up quickly.

A small creek coming off the hills has carved out bathtub pools of water warm enough for a lounging swim.
